The Business Show is the largest of it’s kind in the South East of England and I am thrilled to be speaking there on Thursday 27th Novemeber, (3.3pm in Hall 4).

There is a lot of information available for people thinking of starting up a business to getting their ideas of the ground. For this talk I wanted to look at the ‘limbo’ stage where the business is up and running…then what? If you are a happy plodder then this won’t be relevant to you but if you are keen to build a sustainable business, one that will grow at a manageable pace then I hope to see you there.

Why is it that so many businesses fail within the first five years? Cash flow may be an issue as might meeting demand or keeping up with industry developments. The issues are common and yet there are businesses who surge ahead and create something that stands them apart from their competition.

I have a fun approach to business development, this doesn’t mean that I don’t work hard, put in the hours, blast through obstacles and avoid the everyday tasks that need to be done. My approach is a choice I have made, so now even the dull stuff doesn’t make me behave like a stroppy teenager! There is no doubt that hard work is needed to make a business a success, but it doesn’t need to be a constant struggle. During this interactive talk we will discover just how you can make your business a great environment to be in, after all, it’s where you will spend a large proportion of your time. If you have a desire to create such an environment, then you won’t want to miss this!

I am no stranger to the struggles any business owner faces, having moved from my kitchen table to premises to starting up more than one business. The grazed kneed I have endured have taught me that it is possible to create something magnificent, even if you don’t think you have all the necessary skills to make it happen.
